A gorgeous 1930s Detroit Vapor stove on eBay - Omaha, NE

My stove's very close relative is for sale on eBay, located in Omaha. Look at this beauty!

The enamel's in wonderful shape, and what's really remarkable, all the front knobs are still there! I don't see the oven temperature control dial on the right side. Maybe that's one of the things sitting inside the oven. That might be an interesting repair to have to make. Other than that, though, this is a wonderful stove. I wrote to the seller to correct the date; it's 1933-1934, not 1920s.

Oh, I wish I didn't have to think of freight costs.
It's simply gorgeous.
Gas driven, is it?

Yes, Felisol, probably propane.

If you watch White Collar, Neal Caffrey has one in his rented room. Love it!

apologies if there is a post that I any able to locate that shows/describes your Detroit vapor stove. I am trying to date mine, and while there is a tag with a serial and mode number, there is no date printed on the tag, and I have not yet been successful in verifying the year. it does look very similar to the one you display here. thanks in advance for any help!

Angela, the best I have been able to figure out is, the company switched from a stepped outline stove, where the oven and broiler were taller than the cook surface, to the flat topped style pictured here, in or about 1930, and by 1935, they had moved the oven temperature knob from the side around to the front. I have a couple of pages of original dealer catalogues that have helped me narrow it down that much.

that is really helpful! i would love to get my hands on some original catalogue pages. my stove actually does have the original "instructions" in the drawer, but nothing anywhere on there with a date either. thank you for this information!!
