Saturday's Apron: Simplicity 4868 from 1943

This Saturday's apron is just a pattern. But oh, what a pattern. I bought it on eBay at a very tiny price. So it was a tiny splurge. I'm really looking forward to the chance to sew it up pretty.

Dig the seamed stockings. We all dress like that to do housework. Right?

I always have my seamed stockings on. Even in the shower. They're crucial. Also my pearl necklace.

Judy, your seamed stockings comment made me laugh. When I was still very young in the 50`s (like 10 years old)my grandmother told me I wouldn`t amount to much because I couldn`t keep my seams straight! Thank goodness panty hose was soon in the picture.

Ok Maria, I called you Judy. I really do know who you are. I guess my sinus congestion has moved to my brain or the decongestants are making me weird. Sheesh! Time for me to get offline..

Maria, I wish you could have been here on the 11th or 18th for one of my quilt guild meetings. One of the members is really into aprons, and she has prepared a talk on Aprons Through the last century. It was very very interesting, and I know you'd have enjoyed it. She has some vintage aprons and some she made from vintage patterns, which she brings to share. At the guild show last August, we had a display only category of aprons, "Not Your Grandmother's Apron." She was in charge of that, and it was partly for that that she did the research.

But of course. Seamed stockings are essential. Especially with my T-shirt and jeans. :)

I resent that off comment about seamed stockings ... housework would not be the same without wearing them or the heels ... I prefer a nice loafer;) Cute apron!
