Yesterday I filled the Concorde (nearly empty) and topped off the Jeep (about half full) at the cheapest gas place within reach, the Lansing Kwik Star, and it still cost more than I earn in a day.
Sitting and doing some mental arithmetic. I don't think that a tank of petrol here has ever cost less than what I earn in a day. Never thought about it that way before.
The price is a wake up call. After years and years of gas guzzling cars and useless trips around town ... every precious drop of gas is more appreciated now. Not that I like it, but an eye opener none the less. We stay at home a lot more than not.
