I took the day off work and drove to Rochester, Minnesota, to take the Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) test. I passed. I'm a CMT again. I had the credential for 9 years but let it lapse because I didn't think it was really helping me any.
Now my employer is encouraging a bunch of us to get our CMT or RMT credentials, with the incentive of covering all but $75 of the testing costs and a small raise if we become certified. I figured the raise will pay off the $75 in about 6 weeks of work, so it's worth it.
Just sign me,
Maria Stahl, CMT
